New Website Launch

Greeting Friends of Dakota Skies!

I hope this finds everything in your world safe and well!

Welcome to the unveiling of our brand new newsletter! Through this publication, we will be updating you on various topics throughout the year. When I decided to create this publication, I wanted to keep the communications short and useful. So the format will be comprised of three components. This main article will be a collection of announcements about the upcoming season, bird numbers, updates on changes at Dakota Skies and general hunting stories. The Recipe section will spotlight a tried and true recipe utilizing all those frozen pheasants that you brought home…this will be useful for your wives! And the Paw Prints section will be a short focus on topics for our best friends, the dogs. I hope you enjoy receiving this newsletter and find the information useful and entertaining. If you have any ideas for inclusion in this newsletter, please let me know.

I want to announce that in the next few weeks, Dakota Skies will be unveiling a new and improved website at www.dakota-skies.com. A lot of work has gone into this new site, and I trust that you will find it very helpful and useful. Areas worth noting include a brand new photo gallery and the new SkyGear Store, where you can buy your favorite Dakota Skies Gear. You’ll find some great gift ideas there.

Lastly, it is time to get your hunt booked for this fall! I need to have all returning groups to have their hunts booked with payment by May 1st, so I know what dates are available to market and sell. Remember, if you are a returning customer, your dates will be preserved for you until May 1st and you will have first chance at claiming those same dates or upgrading to an earlier available date.

PAW PRINTS

Getting Your Dog Ready

This is a good time of year to think about how well your young performed this year and what training he needs before next hunting season. Some questions to ask yourself: Was my dog a team player and keeping in range of the gun? Does he deliver the birds to me or does he drop them, play with them, etc. If he has some mouth problems then he probably needs to learn the trained retrieve. The off season is an excellent time to work on your dogs marking ability, quartering pattern, obedience, etc. Gundog trainer, Mike Musick, Sodak Gundog Kennels (605) 999-5647 or email at mmlablover@hotmail.com
